Tryptic Artaq Mythiq 27
I've had a dream of the Afterlife last night, and here's how it looked like
A dream about beautiful sunshine, where everyone will no more be human,
Everybody would be considered as a drop of light who interacts with other
sublime shapes. Giant pop music idols, and political and religious signs
as wide as the sky, silently teaching us secrets about the universe.
When i woke up, I knew i will want to go again...
The beginning of this project started with a fascination I had for the afterlife.
Many have theories, but many are unsure, or quarrel about what's the after Now.

The theme of the show, is Legends in the musical field, all dead at the age of 27.
I chose three, who I wanted to portray in a never seen way... They're always
stereotyped. I remembered a book I read about Jim Morrison, speaking of the
importance of the myth of Oedipus in the song 'the End'. The Greek myth relates
the love of Oedipus for his real mother, and how he ended up killing his own father.
It tells also how he solved the Riddle of the Sphinx. Which was: “Who has 4 legs
in the morning, two at noon, and three in the evening ?” The answer is man.
He crawls as a baby on four legs, walks on two legs as an adult, and with
a cane as an old wise man...

Jim Morrison's picture, represents this myth. He is Hulk, a strong man,
supporting a column at the right. The three legs remind us of Oedipus.
Jimi Hendrix is sitting. He discovered the universe. He is the string master.
The skulls represent death at the start of the afterlife. A major theme in
this image is pollution, that man used to build the pyramid on the dollar bill.
The chairs are a place where souls can meet and discuss all the marvels modernity
has given us. The Ying and yang is an equilibrium between night and light.
As for the first image, globalization would be the theme. The black child,
represents many things. Amongst them, a new era of multiculturalism.
Kurt Cobain is painted almost as a virgin, using this sentence he is famous for:
“Nobody dies a virgin, life fucks us all”
On his head, is what seems a tower, which could represent Babel, or any rising
superpower. Like Asia, rising now, under the watchful eye, and perhaps sometimes
fear of others.

The Symbolic aspect was meant to remind us there are 7 billion opinions on
this Earth. And, this mission we have to co-exist all together. Also,
all the difficulties globalization will be for all ideologies to live side by side.
Even more, the importance of spirituality to question us on the nature of man.

The American brands were chosen as emblems of American globalism.

These three legends of music have risen as giant stars in the sky.
I wanted to portray them more as concept in themselves, than icons,
As big as I could.
